Before engaging
The right relationship begins with clarity.
Advisory work is most effective when the decision, scope, information, responsibilities, and expectations are understood.
The answers below explain the general approach. Every engagement is still evaluated individually and documented in a written scope.
If your question involves a specific legal, tax, investment, insurance, accounting, valuation, regulatory, or licensing issue, the appropriate qualified professional may need to be involved.
Clear boundaries do not limit good advice. They make coordinated advice more responsible.
General questions
About the advisory relationship.
Who does Dr. Frixmon Michael work with?+
Typical clients include founders, business owners, acquisition entrepreneurs, executives, family enterprises, and organizations facing important financial, growth, capital, ownership, or leadership decisions.
What makes the approach different?+
The work connects finance, strategy, capital, tax coordination, ownership, and leadership rather than treating each question in isolation. The exact scope depends on the engagement and applicable professional boundaries.
Do I need a full-time CFO?+
Not necessarily. Fractional CFO support may be appropriate when a company needs senior financial leadership but does not yet require, or is not ready to hire, a full-time executive.
Can an engagement begin with one specific issue?+
Yes. A diagnostic, forecast, profitability analysis, capital-readiness project, acquisition evaluation, strategic session, or another defined project can be a practical starting point.
Is every prospective client accepted?+
No. Fit depends on the need, information available, access to decision-makers, timing, complexity, expectations, conflicts, professional scope, and capacity to support the engagement responsibly.
Services and scope
What support can include.
What does Strategic Fractional CFO support include?+
Depending on scope, it may include cash-flow forecasting, budgeting, scenario planning, profitability analysis, KPIs, management reporting, operating cadence, capital readiness, and executive decision support.
Can you help evaluate or acquire a business?+
ETA and acquisition advisory may support search criteria, financial analysis, deal modeling, diligence coordination, capital planning, transition planning, and post-close financial discipline. Legal, tax, quality-of-earnings, valuation, securities, and other specialist work must be completed by appropriately qualified professionals.
Can you help raise capital?+
Capital advisory can support strategy, financial models, scenarios, lender or investor materials, and data-room readiness. No funding, approval, valuation, terms, or closing can be guaranteed, and regulated securities activity is outside scope unless handled by properly licensed professionals.
Do you provide tax services?+
Tax services are provided through Avant Tax within the applicable scope. Strategic tax and wealth work may also coordinate with attorneys, investment advisers, insurance professionals, and other qualified specialists. Dr. Frixmon Michael is not acting as a CPA, attorney, registered investment adviser, or insurance producer.
What does Family Office Coordination mean?+
It means helping organize information, priorities, meetings, decisions, and communication among the family, operating businesses, and outside advisers. It does not include custody, discretionary investment management, legal representation, audit, or guaranteed outcomes.
Is leadership coaching therapy?+
No. Leadership coaching focuses on executive decisions, communication, accountability, culture, founder transition, and succession. It is not psychotherapy, medical treatment, legal advice, or a guarantee of performance.
Process and engagement
How the work is structured.
What happens in the first conversation?+
The initial conversation explores the business, current issue, desired outcome, urgency, available information, stakeholders, and whether the need fits the advisory scope.
What information may be requested?+
Depending on the work, this may include financial statements, tax returns, forecasts, debt schedules, operating data, ownership information, transaction documents, organizational information, and existing adviser relationships.
How are responsibilities and deliverables confirmed?+
Accepted engagements should be documented in writing, including scope, deliverables, timing, access, responsibilities, fees, exclusions, confidentiality terms, and any required specialist involvement.
What engagement models are available?+
Depending on fit, support may be monthly, annual, project-based, or in selected cases a cash-and-equity structure. Equity is never automatic and requires separate evaluation and written terms.
How long does an engagement last?+
A focused project may have a defined completion point. Ongoing Fractional CFO, coordination, or coaching work may continue monthly or annually, subject to the written agreement and periodic review.
Can you work with our existing advisers and team?+
Yes. Coordination with internal finance staff, accountants, attorneys, bankers, investment advisers, insurance professionals, consultants, and other specialists can be valuable when responsibilities remain clear.
Practical questions
Confidentiality, fees, and outcomes.
Is information kept confidential?+
Confidentiality expectations and data-handling responsibilities should be stated in the engagement documents. Sensitive information should be shared through agreed and appropriate channels.
How are fees determined?+
Fees depend on the scope, complexity, urgency, information quality, meeting cadence, deliverables, specialist coordination, and level of executive involvement. Terms are confirmed before work begins.
Are results guaranteed?+
No. Business performance, financing, transaction outcomes, tax results, valuation, leadership outcomes, and investment results depend on many factors outside any adviser’s control.
Can services be provided remotely?+
Many advisory, coaching, and coordination engagements can be delivered remotely. On-site requirements, travel, and meeting formats are agreed according to the work.
How do we get started?+
Schedule an introductory conversation and share the decision, business context, timing, and desired outcome. If there is a fit, the next step is a defined written scope.
